Billy Ray Russell & Coal Train Express
Http://www.reverbnation.com/billyrayrussell Billy Ray Russell was born in a small coal mining town near the Apalachian Mountains in Virginia. After a spell he and his family moved to the Pacific Northwest in search of a better way of life. Billy landed in Seattle where he put his Coal Train Express Band together to memorialize his roots and those of the Apalachian coal miners. Someone had to tell the story of a dying breed of rugged men who worked long hours in miserable conditions to mine the coal that was a main heat source of this country's early years. Billy did just that in songs like "Coal Train Express". Along the way he made friends with many of country music's best story tellers, such as Waylon Jennings.
